Three Ireland and Tech Mahindra officially open customer service centre in Waterford
New centre will enhance Three’s customer service and deliver valuable jobs in the south east region
Waterford, 5th February 2015 - Three Ireland’s new customer service centre in Waterford was officially opened by Robert Finnegan, CEO Three Ireland and C.P. Gurnani, CEO and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra today at a ceremony attended by employees, senior management teams from both companies and local elected representatives.
Tech Mahindra currently provides customer care services for Three’s consumer customers as well as various back office services. The new centre in Waterford will bolster Three’s operations and help deliver market-leading support and services to its customers.
Tech Mahindra, a specialist in digital transformation, consulting and business re-engineering solutions, has set up the centre with the vision to strategically position presence in Ireland with a prime focus on the telecommunications, financial services, energy, utilities and pharmaceutical sectors. The company plans to leverage the skills and talent pool available in Ireland to grow its business across these sectors in the region.
Speaking at the official opening Robert Finnegan, CEO Three Ireland said, “Today’s opening sets in stone our commitment to deliver the ultimate customer service experience to our customers from our Irish based customer services centres. We announced 130 jobs in Waterford last October and the process of recruiting those positions is well underway. We’re excited to be able to provide valuable local jobs to the people of Waterford and are looking forward to partnering with Tech Mahindra as they grow over the coming years.”

Three Ireland is the second largest mobile operator in Ireland with over two million customers (as of September 2014). It bought Telefónica Ireland, which operated the O2 brand, in a deal that completed in July 2014.
